At a wastewater facility the objective of the infrared/auger system is used basically to reduce volume. bluTEQ’s infrared/auger takes 20% dry product from a centrifuge and dries it to 50% dry. In removing this much water approximately 50% of the volume has been reduced. Instead of expanding the storage facility at a wastewater plan, the bluTEQ infrared/auger system extends the life of your current storage facility. The bluTEQ infrared/auger system is forty feet long. Upon receiving the 20% dry biosolids the infrared heaters bombard the biosolids with infrared rays. Temperatures inside the auger will reach 300˚F. The objective is to remove as much water as possible in a 14 minute run. As the biosolids move along the auger steam and water is released. Pathogens are killed and odor is reduced. The final product is clean, manageable and 50% less volume. INFRARED DRYING TECHNOLOGY Infrared technology imitates the sun and through this process it provides enough heat and energy to effectively dry organic solids. The heating of a product directly means that significantly less energy is required to remove moisture. When incorporated in the correct drying system the result is a highly reliable, efficient and long lasting dryer that is attainable for even the tight budgets.
